Baker Cabin Historical Society - Oregon City's Historic Venue
Founded in 1937, the Baker Cabin Historical Society has dedicated itself to preserving Oregon's rich pioneer heritage through meticulous restoration and community engagement. As an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization, we safeguard two historic structuresthe 1856 Horace Baker Log Cabin and the 1895 Pioneer Churchwhile offering educational programs and cultural events that connect modern audiences with 19th-century frontier life. Our preservation efforts, funded through event rentals and community support, maintain these landmarks as living testaments to Oregon Trail history. The society's mission extends beyond physical preservation, fostering intergenerational connections through volunteer opportunities and historical interpretation.

With monthly public access during summer months and special events throughout the year, we provide immersive experiences that include guided tours, archival research, and hands-on heritage projects. Our board of directors combines local knowledge with professional expertise to ensure authentic historical representation while adapting to modern educational needs. We were married here in 2010. Beautiful church and grounds. We rented an RV to get ready in, no place to get dressed and ready.

Great place to have a wedding, a anniversary, a walk, site seeing. My parents had their 1000th wedding anniversary here. Looks small but roomy on the inside. The grass is super green certain times of the year.

I really liked this site and learned some new history. We got there after the lilac was pruned so we picked up some small branches off the ground and are trying to make them grow.

Beautiful historical site with a cabin and church dating from the late 1800's. Surrounded by lush and green forest.
