My name is Earl Joseph and I want to be your DJ at your next event. I developed an early love and passion of music at age 16 while growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a musician and song writer, I loved the excitement and thrill of entertaining people and this experience gives me the perfect musical background for being your DJ. Eventually when I married and started a family I decided that I wanted to become a DJ specializing in weddings which allowed me to pursue my music passions and stay close to home so I could take care of my family.

The DJ, more than anyone else, will have the most influence over the success or failure of your party. A good DJ will create a lasting memory of a great party. Nothing is more pleasing to a Bride and Groom than to hear their friends and family comment year after year about how much they enjoyed coming to your wedding and how much fun they had!

Earl was so easy to work with. We loved his energy, his willingness to accommodate our song requests, and he was very affordable compared to other DJ's in the business. He was flexible on many things such as MC'ing games for our event and even took pictures for us! He's got an amazing personality and spirit and we wholeheartedly recommend him to entertain your next event.
He also has great communication skills and returns calls and messages promptly. He arrived early for set up and was ready to go. We will definitely hire him for future parties. 5 stars for Earl, no doubt!

DJ Earl dj'd for my 60th birthday! DJ Earl was great! Everyone had a blast and he was very accommodating. He has a huge music selection and was very easy to work with. We danced all night long to my favorite tunes. You won't be disappointed if you hire DJ Earl! In fact we are using DJ Earl again in November.

It has been a few day's since the Star Wars Surprise High School Graduation Party and I just received photos from the photographer. I've been looking forward to jumping on Yelp to tell you all about Earl! Not only did he make booking easy, he even came to meet me and discuss the details of the event, style of music and overall theme. He showed up an hour early to set up and had everything he needed with him.
He was well dressed and rocked the night away for all our high school graduates. Everyone was out on the dance floor! Since it was a surprise party, when the guest of honor came in the Star Wars theme song came on and it was a PRICELESS moment! Highly recommend San Jose DJ!

DJ Earl was awesome at my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary party this past weekend. I was fortunate to have found him last minute (about 3 weeks before the event) on Yelp. He was always very prompt in returning emails which made coordination very easy. He came out to the venue ahead of taking the job just to make sure he could get his equipment there.
He even sent a CD to my mother-in-law containing some of the songs he got from her, just to make sure the quality was ok. He showed up to the party early and set up everything very fast. He was professional and always had a smile on his face. We probably didn't give him enough songs to work with but he managed to fill the party with great music. Thank you Earl!

DJ Earl was amazing! I let my husband deal with the DJ for our wedding. At first, I was hesitant to book him, but hey it was my husband's job, so I trusted him, and that was the best decision in my life as was marrying my husband. Earl was so professional that it shocked me! his playlist was packets long! If he didn't have a song, he made sure to get. He had the guest dancing, and that's what we wanted! We get compliments about him every day! You can't go wrong with him! BOOK HIM!

DJ Earl did an amazing job with a difficult client we worked with in June. On top of that, it was 105 degrees out and Earl was a real trooper. Although he got very little info about the music choices from the couple ahead of time, he winged it and had the dance floor packed all night with a variety of ages and cultures. I also had the pleasure of working with him on another wedding two weeks ago and under much better circumstances and he killed it, once again.
As a wedding planner, I love working with Earl because he spends a lot of time preparing for the gig ahead of time and is great about communicating with the couple and even checks out the venue ahead of time. DJ Earl is such a pleasure to work with. He gave us a comprehensive guide to what types of music to pick for the ceremony through the reception, let's you add any additional music choices if he doesn't have them in his library, and most importantly.is very gracious when you have to cancel your event. If my wedding proceeds in the next year, I will definitely still use his services!

Earl was our DJ for my sister's wedding and he was 100% awesome. Professional, responsive to emails, prompt, organized, timely with agenda, easy to work with, thorough, clear, no surprises, flexible, kind.just some of the qualities that made my sister's special day the best it could be. He did an excellent job sticking to the script of songs my sister had arranged with a unique twist by adding a couple of his own picks to get the crowd in the mood again. If you need a DJ for an event, Earl is the guy!

We hired Earl as our wedding DJ and he was amazing! He was wonderful to work with and made it completely stress free! I loved the organization and getting to pick exactly what was played, the wedding game for our guests was so much fun, and he was very entertaining! Earl is friendly, professional, affordable, and just so outstanding to work with! He really cared about making our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be, amazing and fun! We found DJ Earl at the Trudy's bridal faire last year. I was instantly charmed by his friendly and professional demeanor. He had a huge booklet and tons of information right on the spot. To be honest, I was just sold at his price and that his booklet clearly showed that he knew his stuff. Not only was Earl the least expensive DJ I found, he really felt genuine.
Anyone who is planning a wedding knows how hard it is to find authenticity amongst vendors. DJ Earl communicated with me thought the planning process, dealt with my multiple changes, and made me feel as though the music part of my wedding was covered. To feel that something is covered when planning is truly a relief. He made my wedding timeline for me which I then gave to all of my other vendors!
Not to mention he nailed it on the music and streamlined all of the points of the wedding, vows, entrance, bouquet toss, speeches, etc. Like wow. and he send me a big envelope with a bunch of pics he snapped at the wedding. These were the first pics I received, that was really special. Thank you DJ Earl, you are awesome!

What makes Earl different? He knows music. He knows people. He understands music and people and music is a passion - a mighty passion for him. I had a TV show years ago and wanted to use a tune to open the show and could not find the name of the tune so I could get permission. I called Earl; played the tune over the phone and in less than 10 seconds he "named that tune". Earl is class; friendly; intuitive and pro-active. Earl is at the top of the list; matter of fact, to me, he is by-far number one. ( I was also a magician at an event where Earl was the DJ and I listened to people around me and everyone just continued to praise his song selection!)

Earl is super friendly, accommodating, and awesome to work w/. He even opened another outlet for payment since my company card would not allow PayPal transactions. At first I wanted to give him a playlist but I got super busy so I never sent it to him. We talked and I told him what I would like to play and he basically took care of the rest. I got to Billy Berk's about 45 minutes prior to the start of our event and he was already set-up.
He came equipped w/ water and I think he had coffee, too. I stopped by a few times to ask him to join us for dinner but he declined. My GM doesn't dance. After a few drinks, he was the one dancing and pulling everyone onto the dance floor. I can say that it was a very successful event. Everyone that came had a great time. The music was appropriate and I was glad that I took the dance floor w/ my Operations Manager first. He was the one that hired me a few years ago. I was just a temp. Things are completely different now. Thank you, Earl. I will call on him for our next event!

Choosing DJ Earl was one of our first wedding vendor decisions, and we're definitely glad we choose him. He is professional, organized, and thoughtful. We never had to worry about the music or MC details because we knew we could count on him. As soon as you choose him, he will send you a packet to complete to get to know your music preferences and allow you to customize your wedding song selection. He's attentive, very responsive to email, and quickly adjusts to any last minute changes you make. Also, he takes pictures at the wedding and sends them to you shortly after the wedding, which is just an added bonus. We would definitely recommend him as a wedding DJ! Thanks Earl!

Im so glad to have Earl to be our dj for our wedding! He is friendly, professional, super organized and calm. During our wedding he was constantly communicating with our photographer, videographer and venue coordinator to keep every in order behind the scene! He knows what songs to play to get the people start dancing. Ohhh and it was a nice suprise to receive the pictures he took for us during the wedding! BEST DJ ever! Very organized and helpful and such a gentleman. I want to thank Earl for making our wedding beautiful, wild, fun, memorable. The music was on point and what music we told him to play he play it, Our family and friends we dance and sing baby. Earl played EDM, Freestyle, Hippop, Salsa, Latin, reggae music it was amazing. Earl at San Jose DJ lended his services at our wedding and we were truly impressed! He is great at getting a good feel of what kind of music you would like to be played and the sort of tone you would like your reception to convey. He had almost ALL of our guests on the dance floor having an amazing time! He also provided mini-coordinating services, designed a timeline of the reception, and provided that timeline to our guests with their place settings at no extra charge.
He was affordable and went the extra mile with everything. He even sent us an unexpected set of photographs in the mail that he had taken! I cannot rave enough. Give Earl a call!
