Services
The Balinese Ballroom was built in 1876 and has been restored to showcase its industrial character and stunning proportions. It is located in the historic Pinch District, a Memphis landmark. The Pinch District preserves the ambiance of a kind of urban neighborhood that longer exists in Memphis. The Pinch not only contains a number of sites that recall the early settlement of Memphis, but is also the location of a significant concentration of late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century buildings that housed the commercial and residential life of a variety of distinct ethnic groups around the turn of the century.

Went to a wedding there - great atmosphere BUT the food was horrible! Apparently you can only choose from 2 companies to cater and the food was cold - chicken was dry - the florist did a great job on the flowers so it was really pretty but food was so bad - put it this way - next time I get an invitation to a wedding there - I will make sure I eat before I go

This was the first venue I toured and they included so many things in their packages it was a no brainer for to go with them. And it was worth every penny! They took care of all the logistics you don't think about initially - tables/chairs, parking, food/drinks, staff, security, etc. And I really appreciated they put all their prices on their website - i referred to it a lot to make sure I was staying within budget and honestly they handled so much for a fair price. Taylor was very responsive and accommodating every time I wanted to see the space - she answered all my questions fast and that is so valuable when so many things start coming at once closer to the big day.
The food was DELICIOUS and we had so much fun with the owner at the catering tasting. They even let us throw cheese balls for our exit which I know was probably not a fun clean up but made our event so special. Thanks for everything!

We are so happy that our daughter chose Balinese as her wedding venue! The owner Mike and staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect for her big day. I could not have made it through the day as Step-Mom and Wedding planner without Mandy. She was there every time I turned around. She anticipated what I needed before I knew I needed it! lol Every single staff member we encountered was so helpful, it made the day much less stressful for us all, thank you Balinese staff!

My sister in law and I threw my sister's bridal shower brunch here. We got to decorate it beautifully and we used their catering. Everything turned out mostly nice, but the staff is not customer friendly. At first, they would only give us 6 hours before the start of the event to set up decorations and the brunch was scheduled to start at 11am, which meant we could only come in starting at 5am.
We knew that would not work for us so we had to ask several times could we come in the day before to decorate. They finally agreed to let us do it when my sister in law and I came in to sign contracts and do the floor plan a week before. She said we could come in 8am to 5pm the day before. When we came that day to set up, the lady tried to make us leave at 2 because she had to take an hour lunch break and had showings later, which we couldn't be there for.
She did not mention any of this the week before, so my sister in law asked for the person above her, which was the owner. The owner was very rude, loud and aggressive. He was very unapologetic and blamed his behavior on his "accent". We ended up getting to leave at 5 but we still had to leave at 2 for an hour and it and ruined our schedules. The next day when the owner asked me how is everything going, I brought up the issue again and he preceeded to get loud, aggressive, and talked over me.
The head of the catering team was rude and condescending as well. The place was not even worth what they charged. They have regular folding chairs and tables, the room was dusty, they had power issues and the plugs were loose. And the catering team did not give us full portions of food, which what we paid for. It was cute for what it was, but not worth the money that was paid.

Our organization hosted our first annual wine and cheese fundraiser in The High Point Ballroom and the staff was amazing : Mike and his staff were professional and courteous, the food was delicious and elegantly presented. We've received so many compliments from our donors commending us for selecting such a classy venue. We highly recommend this venue if your looking to host an an elegant event in the downtown Memphis area.

My daughter was married in the upstairs ballroom on Oct. 6. From the first day we met with Ashton through the entire wedding day, I could not be more happy. The entire team was there to help us with anything. They used the bar side of the ballroom to get ready and there was plenty of room for the bride and 5 bridesmaids to have hair and makeup done there.
They catered our event and everyone said the food was wonderful and the bar service quick and efficient. I provided a floorplan of the way we wanted the tables set up and all was perfect when we got there. The hardest part was getting all of the decorations upstairs (no elevator), but we had plenty of help. Jason's Deli delivered our lunch upstairs and so did Everything Bundt Cakes (our cupcakes). I can't say enough about the experience we had there. It was perfect. Thanks so much to the team that made it easy!

The facility can be rented per level or the entire building. My son's wedding is in June they rented the entire wedding for $3,000. It does not have a area where the wedding party can get dressed, they do not have an ice machine, and the rental is only for 4 hours I am not impressed the building is way too expensive I do not recommend this for anyone

My daughter was married there on July 1, 2017. It was wonderful. We used High Point Pinch ballroom and it was perfect. They also catered the food and alcohol which was wonderful and took so much work and stress off of the wedding day. I highly recommend them. They furnished everything - tables, linens, etc. at a wonderful price.

I'm a photographer who regularly shoots late night events at venues around Memphis. I can't comment on the prices, catering, etc. but I can say with authority that the Balinese Ballroom is one of the best locations for party photography. Where most similar venues either have cavernous ceilings or they're black, BB has low white ceilings perfect for bouncing flash. The walls are a nice flat white too, pick a corner and you can use one as a seamless background and one as a reflector.
