Each slice of a Lakes Cakes traditional torte style wedding cake is comprised of four layers of cake and three layers of filling. Many cake designers/bakeries in the Metro Detroit area provide only a two-layer, "birthday cake" style wedding cake.

Lakes Cakes' mini pastries are always an impressive addition to any party or special event. Each "two bite" handcrafted miniature dessert is made with the freshest and finest ingredients available. If mini pastries are the only dessert being offered, Lakes Cakes recommends 3 to 4 pieces per person. Our mini pastry trays are popular for wedding sweets tables, bridal/baby showers, graduation parties or office parties.

Heidi, the owner/designer is especially patient and took the time to answer all my questions. From the cake tasting, to ordering, the entire process was stress free. My wedding cake was both delicious the breathtaking in appearance. My wife and I cannot say enough nice things about Lakes Cakes. We planned our wedding from out of state and Lakes Cakes bent over backwards to help us thru the wedding cake planning process. When we were in town, we scheduled a sample box pickup which was very convenient.

We can replicate any cake from any source. Please be advised that because a different cake designer will be creating the cake, it is not possible for an EXACT replica of the original, but our rendition will be as close as humanly possible. It goes without saying that cakes are a delicate pastry. They should be kept as cold as possible for as long as possible.
