The Balinese Ballroom was built in 1876 and has been restored to showcase its industrial character and stunning proportions. It is located in the historic Pinch District, a Memphis landmark. The Pinch District preserves the ambiance of a kind of urban neighborhood that longer exists in Memphis. The Pinch not only contains a number of sites that recall the early settlement of Memphis, but is also the location of a significant concentration of late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century buildings that housed the commercial and residential life of a variety of distinct ethnic groups around the turn of the century.
