Wedding cake was so delicious! The look and flavor was exactly what I envisioned. Highly recommend and be sure to have a tasting prior, definitely helped make sure my flavors were on point!

My second time coming here and I was blown away with how beautiful my daughters Baptism cake was made! It was so delicious too with fresh strawberries! I sent in a picture of what I was looking for and it came out even better! I can't wait to spoil my little princess with custom cakes every birthday and event! Thank you soooo much!

Next time you order a cake from "takes the cake" ask them if they bake their cakes in the store or if they have the cakes baked some where else and delivered to the store.

We used Takes the Cake for a smash cake for my son. A few different bakeries we contacted made getting a simple smash cake confusing. Takes the Cake was easy to work with and the cake was perfect and well priced. We are hoping to hire them again for my son's second birthday. Highly recommend them!

A wonderful experience from start to finish. First of all Shazi was so easy to work with and the cake was just perfect! They even allowed for a cake tasting! We were planning on going with a 1 tier cake but since we couldn't decide on the flavors we ended up with two tiers. For those of you interested, chocolate raspberry spread and vanilla with pineapple, both amazing!

I have told my husband if he ever wants to buy me a cake, this is the place to get it from! I also receive many compliments not only on the design but the taste. The frosting was just right, not too sweet. And the cake was moist. Best vendor I have ever worked with

This is the ONLY Bakery I order BEAUTIFUL custom cakes from. I've had a few birthday parties for my children and this is the first and only bakery I choose to order cakes from.

I ordered a custom cake from them and it was so good. Everyone at my party loved the cake. It was a birthday cake on the outside and a sex reveal of my baby on the inside. I wanted a blue velvet cake but caveat is that their velvet mix already has red coloring. What was so great was that Shazi really tried to make it work for me. I thought i was asking for too much but she made work and did an experimental blue velvet cake with the ingredients they did have.

The outside of the cake was just like the sample picture i found. I asked for no writing on the cake because i was going to make my own topper. They made some fondant leaves that match the cake theme tho and it was the perfect touch to the topper. The picture isn't that great because i didnt take a picture of the official set up but at least it shows what it looks like!

Shazi, Lynn and everyone at Takes the Cake went above and beyond to create my dream Alice in Wonderland themed cake for my bridal shower! They were communicative with me both over the phone and via email, on details, pricing, and design. The cake was a complete showstopper and was the perfect addition to the decor and festivities. I promise you, you will never be disappointed with them! I went back to this bakery after they did an amazing job on my wedding cake. And let me tell you, they went above and beyond my expectations again. They were booked for custom cakes for the month of February so I asked if they could do something simple last minute and they were super kind enough to agree to make my cakes.

Not only are they beautiful on the outside but super delicious on the inside. The white cake with strawberry mousse is the best. Everyone at my wedding loved it so I got it again!

Plenty of street parking directly in front of the store. Super accommodating staff who are easy to work with. The let me do a sample box and let me choose 4 different cakes to do a sample box on Valentine's Day. A super cute idea that came to life thanks to "Takes the Cake". The cake was a lot drier than I thought but the flavors are great and really come through.

Cash is preferred because there will be an additional charge if you use credit card. Cake is flavorful but was a little dry. Order: sample box (4 different cakes of your choice)

Was recommended this place by a friend who had an amazing experience here in the past so I gave it a try. I called on a Thursday afternoon in hopes to place my order for pick up on Monday but they said they close on Monday's so Sunday is the next available date which actually worked out perfectly! The service was perfect and so easy compared to other cake businesses.

All I told Lynn was that I had a cake that I saw on their Yelp in mind and told her everything and she knew what I was talking about. The pricing is fair and understandable. The customization and everything went smooth and everything was ready for me to pick up on Sunday afternoon. When I went for pick up, Lynn was actually the one who helped me out and was so incredibly nice.

She also offered me a non-slip placement for my car while transporting the cake! I've never heard of that before! Overall, I will most definitely recommend this place to others : **There is a parking lot behind their store which has plenty of parking spaces!

I'm blown away by how beautiful the cake they made for me turn out. They are true artists and put a lot of attention into the details. Came out even better than what I imagined. Takes the Cake completely blew our expectations out of the water. I ordered from them for my friends wedding and Shazi was so accommodating. We started with a cake tasting where we chose 4 cakes to try from. We were able to pick them up and take them home to try. We decided on the white cake with hazelnut Bavarian cream and it was such a crowd pleaser.

Everyone was asking where we got the cake from and it got more attention than the food itself! I highly highly recommend this bakery for the cakes and great service. Will definitely order from them again!

I attended an event at the Hollywood Bowl where they served a white cake with buttercream frosting. And bayyyybeeeee when I tell you that the cake was amazing? It was above and beyond amazing! My favorite cake combo baked by my now favorite bakery. I haven't even been there but it's still my fave. I can't wait to place an order there

My wife and I used this place for our wedding and I want to express how amazing and talented the staff here is. Prior to the wedding we tasted cakes from 4 different bakeries in varying price ranges. Takes the Cake was the only bakery that offered a streamlined, amazing experience (and they even wrapped the box in a cute bow). This place was not only the most affordable option, but just the best tasting.

My guests were blown away by the quality of the cake. Many of the guests at my wedding went back for seconds and even thirds! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would absolutely. I will for sure be ordering more cakes from them in the future.

The cakes that I've ordered from here are always for the Marine Corps birthday. They specialize in icing designs. I've tried the chocolate cake and the lemon cake. The lemon cake is delicious. The chocolate cake was pretty good if you like chocolate. The design is always great. Any time friends or coworkers retire from the military I get their cake from Takes the Cake.

Out of all the bakeries we have contacted, they are the truly one who was very responsive, gave us clear flavor options and fair pricing. We ordered one round layer chocolate cake. It was very moist and not too sweet. The size was able to serve 10 people. The designed mug on the cake was cute and was nicely decorated. The staff was so nice and even gave us a rubber mat so the cake will not move during the car ride. We will definitely order custom cake from them again in the future.

We ONLY go here for our cakes! The ladies are so kind and generous. Every cake is delicious, on time and sometimes they can take last minute orders. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

Wedding cake perfection! Absolutely delicious! For the tasting we ended up trying four different cakes and 4 different types of frosting. We were impressed with all of them, my husband even asked for a plate of just frosting after first tasting it. The day of, the cake was completely gorgeous and wondrously delicious! Takes the Cake designed our daughter's 8th birthday cake in a mermaid theme completely imagined by a combination of her imagination and many pinterest posts. Although, Takes the Cake had made my wedding cake nearly 12 years ago-which was delicious, we had started out with the intention of using another bakery but upon finding out that bakery was going out of business, they directed us to Takes the Cake.and I am glad they did! Shazi was great at accommodating our many ideas and her ever-changing flavor decisions.

I had a last minute order and was scrambling to look for a cake shop that can make a custom birthday cake. I sent the photos by email and dropped by the shop to finalize the details. They saved the day as they were able to make a delicious and good looking birthday cake with such a short notice. But don't do what I did. I recommend placing an order days in advance, especially if you have a more complicated cake design or if you'll be ordering a larger one.

I cannot thank Takes The Cake enough for the AWESOME job that was done for my boyfriend's birthday cake. I admit I was apprehensive dealing with a bakery on the other side of the country, but with one phone call and a couple of emails, Lynn and the team brought my vision to life. And it was a huge hit! My cousin was married about 3 months ago and this is the place that designed their wedding cake. I had the opportunity to go with her when she was deciding whom to choose. These people where so helpful and knew all the right things to ask and set her mind to rest. Oh and that cake was very good.
