The grounds are worth visiting alone, but the true value comes in the ticketed guided tours provided by the docents. Photographs are prohibited inside, but the entire house appears as it would have at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries with all the original furniture and fittings. The knowledgeable people bring each room to life, explaining it's role in Redlands history.

A few important points: * If you need to get tickets on the day, go to the small building on the left of the house as you go up the steps towards the house * Some navigation apps navigate to the location via a private road, ensure you access the location on Highland Avenue. * There was no air conditioning in the early 20th century, so the house can get hot at the height of summer. It's perfectly manageable but caught some of my tour group by surprise.

Magical! It's the only way to describe what happened here. We attended jazz concert June 10, 2022. Matt Mauser and the Pete Jacobs band delighted the audience (Matt does a lot of Sinatra which we love, dances too!). Our friends had never been to Kimberly Crest and were dazzled by the beauty. See for yourself.

It was a very beautiful place. It's like Cinderella Castle in Disneyland. There seems to be a tour in December. Be careful because the road is narrow in the parking lot.

Very pretty! we walked around and got to see a lot of the house. the only problem was that one side of the house seemed to be like it was under construction which made it kind of hard to get a good picture of but overall it was still great! still got some good pictures from the opposite side

Beautiful piece of Redlands history! I enjoyed the garden teaparty. I pray Kimberly Crest finds more contributors to help continue to restore this work of art.

Lovely little excursion in Redlands, 10 dollars to tour the mansion, buy tickets online or in person but they only take cash. Tour is about 45 minutes, if you have trouble standing for that length of time then maybe this is not for you as you cannot seat in any of the furniture, after all it is a historic site. Pete, our guide was fantastic and funny.

To walk the grounds is free, walk to the orange groves next door, I believe you can pick oranges but not 100 % sure. They have restrooms on a separate building, next to where you buy the tickets.

If you love history or even just like flowers, this is definitely a place to visit. This is something you could do if you're new to the area (like myself). I personally did not get a tour of the mansion, but i definitely will next time i come. Walking up, you get an amazing smell of the florals that surround you. It's extremely relaxing and worth coming to. I spent about 40 minutes viewing all the flowers, but you could definitely spend more time if you visit the orange trees.

I am a Historical Landmark Finder! This is the house of Kimberly family since 1905! Historical landmark #1019 This is such a beautiful french chateau victorian style - Architectural master piece. Wow! Thank you for the family of Kimberly and prospect park property, Kimberly-shirk association, and also the city of Redlands, for maintaining and preserving awesome historical master piece!

Me and my kids went there around 3 55, but they close 4 pm and i just couldn't resist to get inside and check it out and snap some photos. This is nice place in the middle of the Prospect park in the city of Redlands.

Great place to visit if you are a history buff. But even if you're not if you appreciate architecture then you would also like this place. Tour inside the Mansion is $10 for adults. I think it's well worth it. Enjoy!

It's a beautiful mansion, full of history and architecture galores. Guided tours are available every half hour on Thu, Fri, and Sun 1 PM-3:30 PM. The tours can be reserved online for $10 per person, but it's not necessary to buy the tickets in advance. You can just sign up for the tour at the office when you arrive. No photos are allowed inside the mansion. It's free if you just want to take pictures of the garden and exterior, which is open from Mon-Fri 10 AM-4 PM and during our hours.

Our tour guide Karen is very knowledgeable and kind. I'm feeling people volunteering here are dedicated to keeping this nice house and extending its history. What a great afternoon to enjoy!

I have lived in the area for many years, but have never taken the time to visit and tour Kimberly Crest. before last Sunday. My husband and I finally made a "date" to take a tour of the beautifully preserved French chateau style home and magnificent Italian Renaissance gardens. It was worth the wait! We arrived early to stroll through the gardens up to the house.

Our tour guide, Elizabeth, was well-versed in the history of the house's occupants, the area, and many, many interesting paintings, photos, furniture items, and other features of the house. When we finished the official tour, we strolled some more, including visiting the cute gift shop in the old carriage house. The proprietors were very friendly.

My husband and I are already signed up on the mailing list and planning to go back soon - especially to see the house decorated for the holidays. Don't wait as long as we did to visit!

Stumbled upon this magical place online so visited on a whim. The area is small but amazingly beautiful and well kept. Took a tour of the house which I highly recommend. The tour volunteer was very knowledgeable and the history of the house and its residents is quite interesting. This historic house is one of many in the area and while the other houses are not museums the drive in the neighboring streets was just as lovely.

My black fiancee and I visited this location during the open office hours as posted online pre-COVID. We were astounded to see that no one came out to greet us and/or welcome us from the office. After knocking multiple times on the office door, it was clear that "we" were not welcome. If you are not a black/minority person, this location may be a great choice for you, especially if you prefer locations that care specifically to non-black couple, or if their treatment of black couples uniquely appeals to your sensibilities.

That said, I do not recommend black couples or mixed racial couples seek out this venue for their weddings. Zero stars was not an option, unfortunately, so they get one from me. Many alternative excellent venues in Redlands/the I.E.

I called to schedule a tour reservation to bring a 90 year old relative to see the estate. I specifically asked about stairs given my elderly guest's physical condition before I made the reservation. The woman that answered the call said there were two flights of stairs and that we could just tour the main level if needed. She neglected to mention there are about six flights of stairs from the parking lot to get to ground level for the tour.

This stressed me and my elderly guest out. I really cannot understand how this place holds weddings, events, tours, etc., and the are unprepared to handle reasonable access for disabled and elderly guests. My suggestion would be to put a sign on the street for the entrance at ground level to designate it a disabled/handicapped/elderly drop point. Furthermore, all of the staff should know how to better accommodate guests with impairments. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth that everyone on the Kimberly Crest staff had no empathy with regard to this issue. Keep living, you'll get there too!

We had my mothers 'celebration of life' event at Kimberly Crest, and everyone raved about the beautiful setting. It was a perfect day and everything went off just as planned. I couldn't have been happier with our event. Paige at Kimberly Crest was exceptional, she went out of her way with assisting me all along the way. Thanks so much to everyone at Kimberly Crest and especially Paige!

Had a fabulous tour with Lori! Beautiful historical house with wonderful surrounding gardens. Don't miss the Shy Girl and her heart shaped rose garden or the stunning multicolored lily flowers in the ponds. Well worth your time for the house tour! Our tour guide also pointed out pictures of the Kimberly family friends, Carole Lombard and Amelia Earhart! Do t miss this gem of Redlands!

Kimberly Crest is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in all of Redlands. Truly a serene and peaceful place. The home has come to be known as a big piece of Redlands history and still plays an active role in the community today. They offer guided tours of the home itself to visitors, and the grounds surrounding everything are an excellent place to take photos if you're looking for a nice backdrop! Certainly a must-see for anyone.

Kimberly crest is located along side of Prospect park. it's beautiful and elegant old mansion & grounds are something to see. can't wait for Covid to disappear so it can reopen for tours, parties & weddings. there is also a beautiful carriage house on the grounds plus an outdoor amphitheater for summer plays. I'm always amazed at the beauty of the Mansion and the grounds. You can see the groundskeepers out working daily to keep up with the grounds and surrounding areas up. My hike takes me by here a lot and I always enjoy the scenery.

Kimberly Crest House and Gardens located in the foothills of historic Redlands, California is a stunning classic victorian home. The grounds are beautiful with surrounding acreage of mature and beautiful orange groves. You can stroll through the grounds and enter the home for a tour for a small tour fee including a docent guide. There are ponds and water effects that depict what turn of the century life was for the wealthy orange grove land barons was like.

It is well worth a visit to go back in time and visit this beautiful historic land mark in Southern California! I returned to Kimberly Crest for the first time in 20 years. Unfortunately after traveling all the way to it, it was closed. The open hours on google and their recorded message do not match those posted on the gate posts. Fortunately their was a young lady kind enough to yell at us that they're closed and when we started to talk to her she yelled back "thank you.ba-bye" and turned around. If you take the staff and confusing hours out of the mix the house itself deserves a five star rating. The inside from what I recall is beautiful.

Kimberly Crest is a perfect example of chateauesque architecture. Built in 1897 it was the home for the Kimberly (of Kimberly-Clark) family. The grounds are absolutely stunning. Take the $10 tour to get a glimpse of what it was like to live here. Be forewarned that there is a strict no photography rule inside the house. I understand they light the palm tree with Christmas lights for the holidays. Can't wait to go back to see that! This is a must see when in Redlands!

Breathe taking mansion available for weddings and private events. It's also open to the public on certain days and hours of the week. Free parking lot that connects to Prospect Park. Stunning views of Redlands and surrounding areas and well manicured gardens that surround the mansion. You won't be disappointed you came!

Plan ahead before coming because the house has limited hours. The inside of the house is only available by $10 tour. The 45-minute tours start every 30 minutes on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 1:00P to 3:30P. Our sold-out tour took 60 minutes and started 5 minutes late. The tour covers the first floor and half of the second floor of the three-story house.

The elevator is broken so the second floor is not wheelchair accessible. For those that can walk, high heels are not allowed. Nothing notable about the architecture, Kimberly Crest is a relatively small 1897 French chateau with unimpressive 1905 Italian gardens. Expecting something more from the heirs of the Kimberly Clark Paper Co., the site lacked the grandiose and decadent lifestyle normal in the monopolistic era.

The native American interior decor by the original owners was thankfully replaced by subsequent owners with traditional designs of the time. The house retained 100-year-old furnishings from the Clark family. Be sure to wander the orange groves of neighboring Prospect Park.

This place was nice. The grounds are beautiful but they run a tight ship on their hour long $10 tour. We were told we could not take pictures or use our cell phones and "you can't sit anywhere so if yoh have to sit down the whole tour group has to go outside." wtf. Knowledgable docent and pretty strict but not all that interesting IMO.

It was nice seeing this as I've seen KTLA post their picture as background on their show. The fountain with the Koi fish needs to be cleaned though - could have been awesome! We couldn't stay for the Christmas lighting for we had another stop, Mt. Rubidoux - 1/2 hr. away; it would have been wonderful to see the castle lit up. The gardens and gift shop are open to the public from 1:00-4:00 pm, Thursday, Friday and Sunday for no charge. Kimberly Crest is closed for the month of August and Major Holidays. Free parking is located in the parking lot at the base of the estate.

This is a really cool place to come visit, take pictures, have weddings, or set up special occasions once you make reservations of course. We took the $10 tour lead by our guide, Carol and it was pretty cool. We learned some history of the place and the 3 ladies that have owned the house and got a chance to see how they lived back in the day. Really beautiful house.

I loved this place! Its very beautiful and the people are very friendly. The only thing I didnt like was that you are not allowed to take pictures. I love taking pictures. That is what I do. I can understand a little but they said they dont allow pictures because they dont want people to be able to see inside the house without seeing it in person. Hmmm. The $10 charge for tours is very reasonable and I will definitely go back. :

Great place but very poorly ran! The director isn't on property 97% of the week and doesn't work well with others. What a mess! But i must say the event staff always pulls off wonderful events!
