COULD NOT FIND THE HENDRIX'S BLAZER I WAS LOOKING FOR NO WHERE BUT THIS LOCATION HAD IT IN STORE THE OWNER SIZED ME RIGHT UP AN ORDERED THE HENDRIX'S BOW-TIE AN SUSPENDERS THE ONWER TAILORED THE SLEEVES FOR A PERFECT FIT THIS RENTAL PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST IN MASSACHUSETTS

I really liked the idea of supporting a local business. The owner was very efficient in taking measurements. The only thing that bothered me was that we had an appointment and when we got there, there were about 7-8 boys being measured ahead of us, so we ended up waiting another 25-30 minutes. They have a decent selection of tuxes, but not a huge color selection. We had a hard time matching the color of the date's dress. It was also really tough to find a time to go because of the store's limited hours.

My Family has always rented at Formalwear and had very good experience, however this past Monday 05/30/22 the Customer Service was horrible. I picked up Nephew's Jacket for his Prom, I explained to the individual working at store that the jacket was already paid by my Nephew. He insisted in telling me that the jacket was not paid. Did not bother to confirm if the jack was paid.

He charged me again. I called Jim on Tuesday 5/31/22, Jim did not want to hear about a double charged, claimed he was busy, called him back on Wed 6/1 and Thursday 6/2 to get $$ credited. Jim very Rude/ Unprofessional did not want to hear that they overcharged. Still trying to get credit back the extra charge. Family will no longer being using Formalwear in Waltham. Jim needs to work on his attitude towards his clients when he and his teams make an error instead of being RUDE and OBNOXIOUS with his clients.!

My son needed a tux for his prom. Jim was fantastic even though we were arriving 5 minutes before closing time because my son attends school in Boston. Jim took the time to measure my son and then size him with a few different styles of coats. The day we were picking up, again we were arriving with five minutes to spare. Jim took the time to have my son try on the coat and trousers. Jim even took the time to hem the trouser legs to my son's liking. We left the store a half-hour after closing time. Jim never once made us feel rushed. Very professional and great customer service!

Kind and honest owner operators of this local business make it special. My rental didn't go perfectly (jacket size issue), but they went above and beyond to make it right, and were nothing but accommodating and generous along the way. Don't hesitate to rent your suit or tux here. Their hours are limited and pretty inconvenient if you work during the day, but if you call ahead and plan accordingly it's workable.

First time at the establishment and first time renting a tuxedo. Jim was an absolute pleasure to work with and he's such a great and honest guy. Very happy with his customer service, professional attitude and his craft! Be back soon Jim!

I'm always grateful when I find a company whose service far exceeds my expectations. Recently I needed to be fitted for a tuxedo that was being ordered for an on-line Tux service. I thought who best to fit a tux but Formal Wear. They set up an appointment (last minute) and did the fitting ( to my surprise) completely free of charge. Something you would never get from an on-line service and most in store services I should add.

The quality of suits, the one on one professionalism, is why you go to Formal Wear. Sure it easy to order things on-line, but if you're planning a wedding or big event you can't afford not to use a professional like Formal Wear. The Best!

The service was exceptional. We were in a jam and really needed a pair of suspenders. Jim opened up and even left a family event to help us out. He is so kind and down to Earth. This is the kind of company you want in charge of your own wedding, prom, or big event. I encourage everyone to use Jim for your events. He is extremely dependable! We can't thank you enough!

If you're looking for formal wear I encourage you to go see Jim at Formalwear Limited in Waltham! I needed a new suit for a small wedding and decided to pop in to the store and see what kind of suits Jim had. Jim was courteous and knowledgeable I got measured right away and had all of my questions answered. I went back multiple times because I could not settle on a color. Jim let me try on all the sample jackets while I made my decision.

When my suit finally arrived Jim opened up all the packaging and steamed out all the wrinkles so I would be good to go. There was an issue with the white shirt and Jim exchanged it for me the next day no questions asked. I plan on bringing the suit back to Jim for dry cleaning as well. Do yourself a favor and skip the big box stores and see Jim! You'll be glad you did

I just got married this past weekend in Waltham. During the wedding planning process, I researched various online suit rental places such as Menguin and the Black Tux at Nordstrom. I was unimpressed by the service I received by them and the way they calculated measurements (Those services don't actually take measurements and you have input the information yourself).

I also had bad experiences with Men's Warehouse in the past with other weddings that I have attended as a groomsmen. I realized that there was a local option in Waltham for me to check out. The staff at Formalwear Ltd were very friendly and knowledgeable. I visited the store multiple times as I collaborated with them and my fiance to select the perfect tux combination for my wedding.

I picked up my tux a couple of days before the wedding and the size for some of the parts of it were off, but it was no problem at all as they overnighted the correct sizes. Everything fit perfectly for my wedding. If you need to rent a suit or tux for a local event, I highly recommend them!

First Attempt: Arrived at 315pm on a Saturday and store was already closed. Per website and door, store closes at 4pm. Second Attempt: Store was open with a group of 30 being fitted. Employee made zero effort in 30min to give an estimate of how long it would take to be seen. Model suits were all filthy with dirt. Easy pass.

This spot is unbelievably great. Forget those chain stores and those places who have a few tuxes with bridal gowns, you have to come here. I have to say that I was a little nervous. I was attending a wedding at the Plaza Hotel in New York and figured that I would need to go to one of those fancy shops in a wealthy suburb. Instead, this store is in an older building near the train station in Waltham.

I must have driven past this location dozens of times and never noticed it was here. But, Yelpers recommended it. Therefore, here I am. I came in on a Thursday night and was immediately met by Jim. He is clearly a professional. I told him a bit about the event. He understood and immediately showed me the exact tux I would need (and he was right). I asked about others and he told me why he did not recommend them.

Since all tuxes are the same price, he did not steer me to any particular one. He worked on the fit, provided everything needed, and had it ready just before the event. The flat rate of $199 included everything -- including shoes! I would absolutely use them again and would urge you to come here.

I do not do reviews but feel I must in this instance. The owner Jim is a consummate professional and an upstanding guy. He went out of his way to come to the home of my father who has mobility issues to perform an expert fitting for a tuxedo to be rented out of town. He did this on an extremely busy holiday weekend when he clearly had much to do. I can't emphasize enough how kind, courteous, knowledgeable and professional Jim is. I highly recommend this business!

I needed a tux for a black tie wedding and I only had a week to get it. I went in to the Men's Wearhouse on Boylston. They had a snake oil salesman that barely took a second to listen to what I wanted before he started trying to sell me on buying a crappy tux. While he went into the back to pull something, I walked out. I went out of my way to Waltham and it was well worth the trip.

I got personal attention at Formalwear Ltd and they really worked with me on what I wanted. The quality of the tuxedo was outstanding, and came with everything I needed (shoes, cufflinks, studs, ties, vest, etc.). I've had to rent a tux as part of a wedding before, and it has always felt like the measurements were just to give them a ballpark so that they could pull the closest thing off the rack. Not here. The tux fit me perfectly in every way. I was really pleased and the service could not have been better or more helpful. Thanks!

Jim helped me at a time of desperation. I had my bags not make it to town for an important interview the next morning and I needed a suit quick. While his selection of Tuxes were not perfect for my needs that day, he opened the shop early and gave me a loaner at no cost in case unless I needed the suit as backup. He is a real genuine good guy and if I land the job, I'll be at his dry cleaner next door for sure, I know this is a real trustworthy business who can assist in a time of need.

My experience with Formalwear Ltd was fantastic! I had heard good things about them from some of the vendors I was working with for my wedding and everything they told me was true. The selection was fantastic! I had sent my guys to pick out their attire for my big day and they came back happy and smiling. They looked GREAT!
