Monarch butterflies are available for release states east of the continental divide. Painted Lady butterflies are available throughout most of the lower 48 states. The Florida Mixture butterfly release is available in FL only. All wedding photographs were sent to us by very satisfied clients and used with permission.
The most common way butterflies are released is from individual personalized paper release envelopes passed out to the guests and/or wedding bridal party. Releasing the butterflies individually like this is a more personal experience for everyone. We also offer organza containers or hanging cages for mass release and display if this is preferred (scroll down page for info). Combination of container/hanging cage and release envelopes for guests is also available. Each butterfly is inside a triangular envelope.
Aside from their beauty, the butterflies you release will enter the natural kingdom in the area and, locating suitable habitat, reproduce, increasing the numbers of the butterflies locally. Even though the butterflies have been raised in protected conditions, they are not domesticated. They are as wild as their counterparts that exist in the area.
When the butterflies arrive, open the top of the package and remove the papers. Store the butterflies in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight or other light source until ready to transport to the event. This will keep them calm. For overnight storage, replace the ice pack with a fresh one upon arrival and then again for overnight (refreeze original).
