This tour is not even a one star tour but that was the least I could rate! Sadly the tour was little true history, much hearsay and plenty of gossip. How do I know this? I live here and took the tour with out of town relatives. We spoke to Clarice prior to taking the tour and she assured us that there would be lots of local history and she would highlight the historic buildings.

Instead we were given how UPS and FedEx deliver art daily, where to eat, what films need extras, her own film experience, and the fact there are two film companies here, that were not even on the tour. She parked in front of restaurants and gave highlights of the menus and spent several minutes in the first loop off Canyon Rd. She spent time explaining the kinetic art she owned and how we too could purchase some and have UPS or FedEx sent it home for us.

The icing on the cake was her telling us there were no French people living in Santa Fe and how the local Native American women thought the Spanish Conquistadors were so handsome. Seriously? I have never felt more the sucker. And for this we paid $20 each. Ridiculous!

To say I was disappointed in my experience with Custom Tours by Clarice would be an understatement. In fact, I was actually offended. I am a native Santa Fean and my family was hosting a cousin from Nebraska for the week. Having never been on a trolley tour of Santa Fe in my lifetime of living here, we thought it would be fun. I went online, selected a date and time, and paid for 3 tickets through the online booking system.

After receiving a confirmation email we showed up to the starting location and met a few other people there who were waiting for the same tour. Our tour began at 4:00PM, and at 4:05 I called the number on the website as a trolley had not yet arrived. When I politely asked if we were in the correct location, the woman on the other end of the phone said "Are you KIDDING ME?

There was a 51% chance of rain and the tour is cancelled! I have no reservation for you." She went on to make rude remarks in a condescending tone. I asked if I could at least get my credit card refunded, and she proceeded to tell me she was the owner and my credit card hadn't even been processed yet. I asked if that meant the charge wouldn't be on my statement, and she yelled, "Can you come tomorrow? CAN YOU COME TOMORROW?" not even giving me an opportunity to respond.

When I said we could not (as I was working), she said the charge would not be on my statement and hung up the phone. I was surprised! My inquiring call resulted in an extremely aggressive and unprofessional exchange with the owner. We proceeded to hop on a trolley with Fiesta Tours that picked up an hour later. The hospitality was wonderful and we enjoyed a beautiful tour (free of rain). I frequently work with Santa Fe visitors through my job, and from now on I will unfortunately be advising them to steer clear of Clarice.

Tried three times to book this tour. Each time we were told they were full. When we finally did get a "reservation", we waited an extra ten minutes after tour start time to learn they were once again "full". When I called to the office to raise my complaint, I was offered a later tour for free, but what good is that when I had already scheduled dinner. STRONGLY recommend you save your $20 and spend it with another company. Calling this group and reserving anything is a complete waste of time and patience.

A quick update.went over to The Loretto Line and had no trouble buying a ticket ($5.00 cheaper) and got a great tour of the city as well as some excellent recommendations on where to shop and eat. Santa Fe is a great, historical city. It is worn the effort to get the right tour (reminder, not Clarice), and it will save you money.

Booked the tram twice. They were late both times and we learned more about the service owner than Santa Fe. Wanted to see the sights, not get the autobiography of the owner.

I would give Clarice a 0 if I could. We made reservations at noon and when we showed up at 11:55 we saw Clarice taking off in her silly blue tram! She yelled to us that she waited and that we were late (aka 5 minutes early) and she said there were issues we didn't understand. We suspect the issue is that she didn't fill her tram and didn't want to take around a half empty tour. I recommend Fiesta tours that leaves from the same station at the odd hours.

Gary gave us a great tour of the highlights of the city so we could go take a later look at the places that interested us. It was well worth the $15 each to take the tour.
