My mother-in-law and I took the basic cake decorating class here. It was informative and a lot of fun! Julie was wonderful--personable, patient, and supportive. Attached is a picture of the cake I decorated with what I learned from this class! We are already signed up for the burnt almond cake class and will likely take more classes. Cake Works also has a lot of baking supplies, delicious cake mixes, fillings, chocolates, decorating tools, anything you need! They also have wedding supplies and seasonal decorations! Highly recommended.

What a gem of a place! The lady was willing to listen to my problem and even demonstrate a solution in her test kitchen in the back. While I was waiting for her to prep the demo, a solution came to me. I told her I didn't need her product anymore and she was okay. I will definitely be back to get their wonderful assistance and products.

Such a great little shop with wonderful staff! Love the cake mixes and fillings! I would say skip the big box store cake mixes and just stop here. I have also bought many cake toppers from them.

We had a virtual cooking decorating corporate event hosted by The Cake Works, and it was a fantastic experience. The team was prompt on having the cookie kits shipped out to our participants and our host Julie was lovely. She showed us different techniques on how to decorating our cookies. It was a great experience from start to finish and I would definitely work with them again for more events. If you're looking for baking supplies they also have quite a few options to choose from in store. Thank you again!

This place is awesome! I came to visit a friend in San Jose and wanted to check out if they had any cake decorating stores and they sure did! This place is amazing the staff is so nice and friendly. Also it smelled like fresh baked cinnamon rolls. They had a lot of selections, I'd definitely go back if I lived closer.

Walked into this store and it smelt like heaven It was cinnamon rolls freshly made that morning but still, heaven. The ladies at the store front were really friendly and caring towards their customers. They were informational for those who had questions. The store is small but stocked with pans, cake stands, cake boards, doilies, baking cups, chocolate molds, I mean down to ingredients. Small and simple but stocked with things a baker would need. I would recommend this store!

I love this cake supply store! Everyone is so helpful and informative. I had NO experience with fondant tiered cakes but Julie helped me the entire time, gave me recipes and tips and even helped me cover a difficult cake project with fondant. They have the best chocolate for ganache and I always go there to buy it! My cakes look professional and family members have been shocked at what I've made. all because of their help! I haven't taken classes there yet but I would love to in the future. I'm so HAPPY they have stayed open part time during this pandemic. I would literally cry if they closed.

This is your one stop shop for all your baking and treat making needs. Started out going here for cake decorating class. Been going back for more tools, custard filling, buttercream frosting (THE BEST!) and the friendly, helpful and genuinely awesome customer service.

Took the Burnt Almond Cake virtual class last night and it was top notch! I had a blast doing it and in the end the cake was the best I'd ever tasted! I highly recommend not only taking one of these classes but also checking out the store for all the supplies you can get to help out with your passion for baking, etc!

The instructors are so, so sweet and super at teaching their craft. The beginning decorating class was a blast, and we learned techniques "hands on". We will be back for more classes and baking supplies. So happy we found Cake Works!

The Cakes Works is a special place. The staff is friendly, helpful and super knowledgable. We've attended a gingerbread house decorating party, purchased a ton of baking essentials and non-essentials over the years and we also purchase our pre-made sugar cookies and icing for an annual decorating party we host each year. We always look forward to our trips to The Cakes Works!

I love going to Cake Works for the classes! Julie is super informative and helpful. I have taken a few group classes and also private ones. The group classes are really fun. We all share the same love of cake but have different artistic minds. So it's really fun to see each other's creations. What I love about Julie is she shows you how to do it but then has you do it again so you learn.

In the private class I asked Julie to help me do a fondant hello kitty cake for my niece. I am just a beginner but she really brings the creative out of me! We love the annual gingerbread classes for the kids only $10(includes everything)! Normally the house aren't really for eating but as you can see in our pictures it's super yummy! The best part is you take the houses home and no clean up afterwards!

Thank you cake works. All of the ladies there are amazing and helpful! As far as the previous bad reviews. I don't understand how they can complain about the basic cake decorating class. A session is $40 for 4 classes which equals to $10 a class for 2 hours per class. So for $40 you get 8 hours of hands on instruction. The supplies you bring or buy they are yours to keep forever for future cake decorating. Plus you get a 10% discount on anything you buy. It's truly an amazing deal. You can not learn the same way by watching YouTube videos as hand on with instructors

The ladies here are so sweet! When I walk in the store, I feel like I am visiting home. The selection of supplies is also great and I feel prices are fair. It's a sweet little shop with good service and I recommend checking it out!

Lots of interesting classes at good value. I've taken a couple of classes here that were a lot of fun and very reasonably priced. The store itself has been around forever and has everything cake related you may ever want to buy. The cake decorating class is 2 hrs a night for 4 nights. It's a nice, informal atmosphere. We learned to do various borders, flowers, roses, etc.

You can buy all the supplies at the store at a discount. And then the day after thanksgiving I took my son in for the mini-gingerbread decorating event. It was an hour long, they had cute little houses all ready to go with icing and candy for us to use. A couple of his friends were also there - maybe 7 or 8 kids total - and they all seemed to have a blast.

Awesome specialty cake supply store with lots of sprinkles, food color, flavors, cookie cutters etc. to step up your dessert decorating. The prices are very fair, sometimes a lot less than buying from Amazon, sometimes not as cheap as going to michaels with a 60% off coupon. They sell different items than what you'd find at Target / Walmart / Michaels / Williams Sonoma so it is worth shopping here if you're looking for something more. Walking through the store your mind will go wild thinking about all the things you could create with their products.

The (sold out) cookie decorating night class was super fun we learned the basics of royal icing, buttercream & chocolate dipping cookies. We got to use special sprinkles, many I never seen before including edible stamps. It's hosted in the back section of the Supply store which was part of the charm. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Everything custom is worth more, including custom cookies.

The class was more for people with no experience to have a fun relaxing night out and try something different. Yes you can learn everything from YouTube and buy everything from Amazon but nothing beats doing it in person, with others, and having everything prepped and ready for you. Oh and they also provide all the recipes for you to try at home. I appreciate this small business for hosting these and other classes that create a better & fun community.

This review is for our birthday party we had hosted here. My daughter age 7 had 13 friends for a cake decorating party. From start to finish my interaction with Julie and the other ladies here at cake Works was great. These ladies and the cake works business is really a GEM here in Campbell. The ladies who helped with the party and helped the children decorate their cakes were amazing.

I was worried the girls would decorate their cake in 2 min then be bored but the were busy the entire time. The level of kindness interaction and warmth were something you can't train and we need more of in our busy world. The set up was perfect, the girls were thrilled, with the sprinkle and topping choices. Book your party here for any age group and have a fun and memorable time.

I worked with Julie for the cake for my October wedding. It was a very simple cake - an 8 round cake with navy blue fondant and maroon flowers on the top and spilling over the side. It tasted good and looked really pretty and the cost was $60. Julie communicated with me via text to show me the fondant flowers she could make for options, so that was nice. Overall, I was happy with the cake.

The price seemed a *little* high given the cake's simplicity and size, but the price increase was due mostly to the flowers. The bakery has a VERY outdated and old fashioned feel about it, and not necessarily in the cute way, but it did the job for me!

Store was recommend by a baker at Whole Foods. What a wonderful find. Julie was very helpful and fun to work with. Showed me how to use bowstring, helped me find items to make a cake topper for my son's wedding. Lots of neat items for creating and decorating cake and more. Need to take my wife there and explore some more!

Added 3 pics from anniversary sale on 4/7/18. Everything was 20# off plus additional discounts on cake mixes, cake pans. Still a very nice staff. I've taken a class and my cousin has taken a handful of classes.

This review is for the "Love At First Bite" french macaron class I took last night. The class was so much fun! I have attempted to make macarons MANY times before, but I have only been successful with a handful of batches. I decided to take this class to figure out why I was not creating adequate macaron shells during my home test runs. I had been searching for several months for a local macaron class.

The other "nearby" classes available involved an hour drive each way and over $100 for the class. The class offered at Cake Works was affordable and conveniently located for me, as well as it being informative and entertaining. I highly recommend their classes to anyone looking to learn a new skill or to troubleshoot what you are doing wrong at home. Thank you to the ladies at Cake Works for a fun evening! I look forward to visiting Cake Works again for my next baking adventure!

Had my daughter's 10 bday party @ cake works. We opted for cup cake wars. The kids had great time and made awesome cupcakes. The instructors were great and all girls had a gala time. Couldn't believe that 10 year olds made such delectable treats.

My first baking class here was so much fun! The instructor had a lot of great tips. The instructor land her assistant had us laughing, it was a great time. We had a lot of hands on, learned how to make Tres Leches cake and we had enough to take some home! Def a plus! I would recommend to anyone to come by and take a class here.

I've taken 2 classes here at Cake Works and had a great time. Definately worth the money. The ladies are soooo nice! I've been back through the years for supplies as needed. One point deducted because the old worn-out place could use some deep cleaning.

I had my daughters 4th birthday party here. There were a total of 4 girls ages 3 to 5 and they all loved making their own cakes. From the first time I called, and throughout the whole event, Julie was very nice and sweet. She showed them everything! How to apply frosting, and gave them options to choose a filling. Next she had several decorations set up for the girls and even took them out to the store and allowed them to choose a ring afterwards. The other parents thought it was a cute idea. I would recommend these parties to anyone :

Cake Works got knocked down to 3 stars. Why? Here is my story and I am sticking to it: I took four classes here: Cupcake, Cocoa 101, Cream Puffs, and Christmas Cakes. The Break-Down: (1) Cupcake Class was 4 stars. See my previous review. (2) Cream Puffs class was 4 stars. It was hands-on, we received recipes, and I actually knew how to pipe a puff and make some cream (don't read too much into that). (3) Cocoa Class was 2.5 stars. Stale, no hands-on besides powdering truffles (what the heck) and there were endless plugs for Guittard cocoa and their red velvet mix.

If I want to listen about their endorsements for their products, I shouldn't pay $65 a pop. In addition, the class ended an hour early. Not fair and not cool. (4) Christmas Cakes was 3 stars. Poorly organized. No recipes for the sponge cake (turned out it was a mix, gag), an instructor sub named George with major attitude (his typical responses: "what do you think"). Thankfully the owner was there to assist or else I would have karate chopped George back to Pastry School.

Please keep in mind that you are sitting in back of a cake supply store with a table and back storage of cake supplies. Don't imagine a fancy commerical kitchen. It is indeed ghetto Bascom-fabulous. Overall, my experiences combined here have been average, I wouldn't go out of my way to say that I have learned so much. I think the free recipes helped me more than the visuals (you can always You Tube). And you don't necessarily get what you pay for here. so do some research and ask tons of questions when you are in class. Peace out, suckas.
