Baker Cabin Site-Pioneer Church The Baker Cabin Society is a non-profit association of community partners and history buffs from all over. Maintaining and improving the Buildings and Historic Site is a great way to learn more about your community, about the history of the Oregon Trail, and to invest your time into something truly worthwhile.
Services
The Bakers chose the area, now known as Carver, for their 503-acre Donation Land Claim due to a basalt rock formation to the west of the cabin. Horace Baker was a stone mason by trade and being a very enterprising man he could envision this area as one of great promise. Soon Horace Baker was very busy quarrying rock from this area.
The Pioneer Church at the Baker Cabin Historical Site will bring to your wedding the feeling and permanence of history. With the charm of a woodland Chapel, the Pioneer Church is available weekends and weekdays for weddings, rehearsals, renewals of vows, christenings, and memorials. Comfortable seating for up to eighty guests in a white interior richly appointed with wood and classic stained glass windows.
The Church is rented in two hour increments. There is a one hour cleaning period between events. Florists, photographers, and musicians have access only during your rental period. Use of the fragile antique pump organ will be limited to referral organists, or others by approval only. The piano is available for anyone to use.

We were married here in 2010. Beautiful church and grounds. We rented an RV to get ready in, no place to get dressed and ready.

Great place to have a wedding, a anniversary, a walk, site seeing. My parents had their 1000th wedding anniversary here. Looks small but roomy on the inside. The grass is super green certain times of the year.

I really liked this site and learned some new history. We got there after the lilac was pruned so we picked up some small branches off the ground and are trying to make them grow.

Beautiful historical site with a cabin and church dating from the late 1800's. Surrounded by lush and green forest.

My family & I spent a weekend looking into local history around the Barlow Trail. This was a great stop. I wish the home had been open so we could see inside, but the set-up of the homestead was interesting to picture. It would be nice to stop here when there are people available to explain the historym

For a small wedding, this venue is romantically engaging! The grounds are perfect for picture taking and picknicking, and the chapel's historical character makes you feel like you've traveled back in time. There isn't air conditioning so if you plan to use the pioneer church, pick a day that isn't roasting and keep your guest list fairly short. I highly recommend this location for a chapter in your happily-ever-after story.
